Screen Style: Shoshanna from Girls

I should preface this post by reminding you that I am in the UK,
so I don't have the privilege of watching Girls as soon as it's on.
Please forgive my delay. Now getting to the point...

I know it's not for everyone, but I loved Shoshanna's outfit in the season 2
premiere of Girls - "It's About Time," which she wears to Hannah and Elijah's party.

Channel Shoshanna at your next house party:

Word on the street is that Shoshanna's actual dress in this scene is from H&M,
but is not currently available at the store, and her hat/fascinator was compiled
by show stylists from two different fascinators bought from Etsy.

London Wedding

I came across a link to photos from this London wedding
on Bright Bazaar, and I'm glad I found the full wedding on Style Me Pretty.
This wedding is gorgeous. I think it captures the feeling of London really
well and strikes a really good balance between rustic, classic and whimsy.

The wedding ceremony was held at Islington Town Hall (for this not in London,
this is maybe the best town hall for weddings, and I love being a street spectator
when everyone is outside after the ceremony). The reception was at a warehouse
in Dalston called MC Motors, available for hire for events and shoots.
The photography is by Aneta Mak, and the wedding was planned by Charlie Beard.

Be prepared - I'm about to go overboard on the photos, but I love
almost everything about this wedding.

The Oscars 2013: My Best and Worst Dressed List

The Best:

This Elie Saab Couture gown was my favourite.

Another Elie Saab great.

I was on the fence about this dress, but she just looks powerful and awesome.

And the Worst:
(and there was a lot of bad, I thought. A lot of people were just wearing
dresses that were incredibly unflattering or bringing back the wrong side
of the 90s.)

Shame on you for wearing your 9th grade semi-formal dress, Anne Hathaway,
shame on you.

Is this an ice-skating costume-cum-Miss America?

I know this was on some best dressed lists, but I hate it.

The Evolution of Dance

You may have seen (but I thought it was worth sharing just in case),
but Michelle Obama joined Jimmy Fallon on Late Night
for the Evolution of Mom Dancing.  Michelle Obama's awesome
(and definitely a better dancer than me - mom dance or no).

P.S. I really like this J.Crew cardi that Michelle Obama is wearing.

Back to the dance - Jimmy Falon did the Dad version last year:

And the inspiration, for the sake of completeness:

Daily Dishonesty

Daily Dishonesty is a blog of brilliantly-designed little white lies
by New York graphic designer and illustrator, Lauren Hom.
Not only are these beautifully designed, they make me laugh
because a lot of them hit home.

Lauren Hom's Broken Heart Series of greeting cards is great, as well.

You can buy the Daily Dishonesty prints on Society6.
